I know we all tend to shop for good deals that will be good for our ferrets
but here is one which you would all be best to avoid:
 
Super Giant Premium Unscented Cat Litter.
 
It is available through the Giant chain of supermarkets.  It comes in a
white bag with red, blue and yellow markings, a drawn outline of a cat and
paw footprints.  It claims to be "All Natural", "Super Absorbent" and, more
important, "99% DUST FREE".
 
This last is a bunch of crock.  We bought a 25 lb bag and the thick cloud
of dust that came up when we poured some into a litter pan filled up a good
quarter of the room.  Everytime you poked at the stuff even lightly, a good
puff of dust came up.  I shudder for the ferrets of unwary and
inexperienced owners who don't yet know any better.
 
We intend to complain to the Giant store where we purchased this bag.
Additionally, has anybody any suggestions about any other agencies we may
contact to get Giant to stop selling this litter under a misleading label?
