Hello all, just wanted to post to all about what a wonderful time we had at
the Ferret-wise picnic today!
 
Got to meet some new people that I've been chatting to online, and did some
great shopping too!  Joe has the BEST luck with those raffles, our kids
made out like the little bandits they are!  Thanks Alicia and all of your
crew for putting out a wonderful fun day....BTW we want to move up there
now...it's gorgeous in your neck of the woods!!
 
We will be taking on a sad case rescue tomorrow.  A coworker stopped me
last week and asked if I knew of anyone who could take a ferret--*&&*$%%$!
Ya just don't ASK me that, I get into too much trouble at home with the
hubby on that one.  So I was good, and told him about the (already
overcrowded) shelters and such, and about two days later I saw him again
and he said, oh, it escaped from the cage and ran away".  $@##%$!!  See, he
doesn't like ferrets, but because he works at an animal hosp., somebody
just dumped this ferret and it's cage in his garage, and it escaped before
he could do anything about it.  So I went in to work, and lo and behold a
ferret had just arrived as a stray case.
 
This little chocolate guy is the skinniest, saddest looking thing I have
EVER seen in all my years of knowing ferrets.  Suprisingly, Hubby said "No
problem!"  So tomorrow, I need to convince the shelter to give him to me
now and withold the waiting period of 8 days for an owner.  I'm afraid he
won't make it on his own without some gravy and loves in those eight days.
