I reread the law (http://loki.stuaffrs.wayne.edu/ferretlaw.html) and I saw
nothing referring to licensing anyone but breeders [Caveat -- I'm not a
lawyer and I don't pretend to understand legalese... I have enough
difficulty with tech speak :]. However, there is likely a state law
pertaining to animal shelters and a person who'd know the details well is
Micki Wingate (313)587-3959, president of the GLFA and breeder/shelter
operator [BIG -- she consented to having her number listed on the GLFA web
page so I'm sure it's OK here]. Tracy runs a shelter as well and will
likely respond with more information.

HTH,

Alan (a one-time hobby breeder who knows just enough to be dangerous)
