Join the Cascade Ferret Network for a day of fun and learning about our
favorite companion.
 
"Ferrets For Me.....Ferrets For Life!" is the theme for the event. The
theme reflects our hope that all ferrets are cherished by their owners
for the entire life of their ferret as well as celebrating the people
that intend to always have ferret companions in their lives.

Visit the central shelter facility of the Cascade Ferret Network and meet
shelter ferrets and the dedicated volunteers that help take care of them.
 
Meet Dr. Mark Burgess (featured as one of "Nine Great Ferret Vets" in
Ferrets magazine) and Dr. Katrina Ramsell of Southwest Animal Hospital who
will be present to look at ferrets and answer health related questions.
 
Enjoy the first display of photographs taken of shelter ferrets by
professional photographer Kristin Zabawa.  Kristin takes black and white
photos and her goal was to capture the essence of ferrets on film.
 
Watch original ferret videos featuring a ten minute video made by film
maker Mien Yockman showing ferrets exhibiting their best ferret play
behavior.  Mien will also be present at the event to get footage for an
educational video on ferrets he is working on.  Another video titled
"Ferrets in the Visual Arts" is a humorous but informative illustration
of ferrets depicted in art throughout the ages, ending with clips from
several movies and commercials featuring ferrets.
 
Silent auction of unique ferret items including the following:

   - Signed black and white photograph of a shelter ferret from
     professional photographer Kristen Zabawa
   - Hand painted wooden box decorated with ferret images
   - Customized pet carrier outfitted with hand-made accouterments
   - Original "Barnaby" cartoons (as seen in Modern Ferret magazine) by
     Melissa Taylor -- professionally matted and framed
   - Hand made "costume" collars
   - Hand made "sweetheart" hammock/sleep sack sets with matching
     heart pillow
   - Signed copy of an original ferret fairy tail, "Rizzo and the
     Beanstalk" (seen in Modern Ferret magazine issue #27) with new
     illustrations
