i thank the many people who have e mailed me

Iam not qualified to give a opinion as a qualified vetinary surgeon only as
a ferret owner

I think three things affect your ferret

1 inbreeding
too small a gene pool can cause problems

2 food
i think dry food is ok in moderation but as a food for every single day i
feel it isnt suitable i feed dry food usually about 3 times a week mixed
with raw meat such as chicken necks liver rabbit heads gravy yorkshire
puddings mashed potatoes

i think this gives a more varied diet

3 temperture
i dont think ferrets benefit from hot climates it gives them thin coats
and makes them lathargic

i may be wrong in my thoughts but it is worth trying

steve
