Hey Everyone,

First off, to Bill and Diane, please call me anything but Miss Zick and the
b word. I am not sure which is worse actually! ;-) I am going to soon be
going back to *my* last name, which is much nicer anyway.

And as for Mo' Bob and his bones, I guess I should elaborate (I was just in
an evil mood the other day!) He gifted me quite some time ago with a fine
example of a racoon baculum (penis bone). All mammals but man and apes have
them. It's about 5 inches long. Anyone want to switch species now?

Ferret-proofing tips--

The best thing I can say is get on your hand and knees and look at things
from their viewpoints. It is amazing what things you can find that way.

Cabinets-be sure that door and drawers have latches of some kind. I have
one that can open both. And check under the toe kick, sometimes that isn't
solid. If you have a cabinet you can't make sure they can't get into, check
the interior for holes and such and cover them. Look close at pipes coming
in.

Stove and Fridge-I use trim moulding around these. You can pick one to
match close to what you have, paint or stain. Cut lengths and connect with
small L brackets on the appliance side and keep in place with velcro or nail
to cabinets. I have had compliments on mine, people thought I did it for
looks!

Washer/Dryer-masonite (hardboard) is good for this. Mine is cut around the
door on the dryer and is about 2ft tall. It goes from wall to wall and
doesn't get in my way. I attached it directly to the laundry pair with
velcro. I can take it off this way to get anything I might drop. You can
paint to match your appliances if you want.

Cords-I don't have any that chew cords but you might want to put computer
cords and such into a cover. These things look like electrical conduit
except they are slit lengthwise to slide in the cords with. I buy it for
toys for the ferts, they love to chew on it and haven't yet gotten through
it. You might also could rig something up with mailing tubes.

Desks-No matter what else you do, keep all pencils and erasers in a drawer
that the ferrets can't get into. Push your chair at least 4 feet from desk
when not in use. Speakerphones can be figured out. Ask Trish. I was
talking with her once when Miss Stella got on the extension and started
dooking at us. Watch out for speed dialing. I do have one that loves mouse
pads, the backing.

Mo' Maggie (aka Margaret Marie Merchant) and the Mid Missouri Mob

and you wonder why I like MMMMMMM's!!!!
