I'm having a hard time picturing this.  If you come up to the northern end
of the state we can check him out (perhaps to a show or fun match).  Or
send you to one of the better vets in the country such as Dr. Kawasaki in
Lakeridge.  We are still mourning the recent loss of another vet from our
state.  But you have a vet school down there and at least one ferret
breeder and vet student that might be willing to help out.  I'll try to
contact her if she hasn't already gotten in touch with you.

All three vaccines typically used in ferrets have caused reactions.  Its
unfortunately the nature of vaccines since the same can be said of
basically ALL vaccines in all species.  With the drastic problems some have
with Fervac while others have none whatsoever there is probably something
other than the vaccine alone involved.
