actually, you dont even need to do this. combine this method with the

the tube, and i've rigged the gates i bought with vinyl siding - the
fuzzbutts slide right off.  hee.  anyway, cut the floor linoleum or carpet
protector to fit between the door jambs, and then install the baby gate in
the door.  1) they cant dig their way out or damage the carpet, because the
gate keeps the linoleum down flat, and 2) you have easy access to the room
and they cant get out.  s'how i contain all of my fuzzies - gates in the
kitchen entryways or at the exit to their room.  clear vinyl carpet
protector doesnt hugely mar the appearance of a house, nor do
white-vinyl-sided gates.

*grin* my roommates and SO are consistently amazed at the fact that there're
never clothes or shoes lying around - just bags, boxes, tubes, papers, and
balls of varying sizes and colors.
