I might be moving to California, hence the anonymous posting.
 
I tried to search the Archives, but it getting tough to weed through so much
information.  So, apologies, first of all, to anyone tired of seeing this
[same] question.
 
Should I consider getting a foster home for my two guys in Phoenix?  I'd be
living in San Diego and could go visit them now and again.  Or, should I
just find a good home for them and part ways.  I've had these guys for four
years.
 
One has had an adrenalectomy and is back to great health.  The other is a
tough guy, but always makes the ferret sitters nervous when I'm out of town
because he's just so scrawny.  He was even more frail when I moved where I
am now and left them with a rescue for two months.  I fear that totally
relinquishing any contact with these guys might kill the skinny one.
 
BTW, I'd use their names, but I use to post messages with their names all of
the time.  It wouldn't be tough to find out who I am if I mention their
names.

ps: whether I move to CA or not, I'm definitely going to start
    supporting the folks who are trying to legalize ferrets in there.
    this is causing me great pains, and it shouldn't.
