Hi All,

Well since I have now had two 5 week old kits here I learned something I
have never heard before on the FML that proved to be invaluable to me.
Since the kits were receiving some milk replacer they would get diarreah
which is normal. I was told several things that might help it, tried some
to no avail, then came up with one of my own.

Whenever I personally have this problem I take an Acidophilus capsule that
you can buy in the health food stores. It is basically a lot of the good
bacteria etc.. found in your body and especially in the stomach. It is the
reason yogurt works too as it contains Acidophilus. For the babies I used
about 1/2 capsule mixed in their food in an amount that would last perhaps 3
meals. If you need to treat older and larger ferrets I would personally
start with 1/3 of a capsule of the powder mixed in some favorite yummy and
go from there. You will need to experiment until you find the best dosage
for the severity of the problem. Of course you will need your degree in
Pooperology for this <GGG> as you will be checking potty pans constantly. I
already have mine, took the class and everything:-). Just thought I would
throw in another, but natural, way to help in cases of bad diarreah. This
treatment will need to be repeated approx. every 24 hours too. TNT!!
