Hey guys!! Kim here from Stinky Pete's Ferret Retreat wanting to tell
you guys about an awesome raffle to benefit a very good friend of
mine!! Her name is Jenny and she runs Asti's Ferret Haven all by
herself. As you know ferret rescues or shelters down here in Florida
are few and far between so there's only a handful of us that can take
in the sick, elderly, unwanted or abused. Asti's Ferret Haven is one of
them. Last year you might of heard of a shelter in Florida that
unfortunately became infected with the Distemper virus. This was
Jenny's shelter. She gets sick to her stomach every time she things
about it. Even upon doing all the necessary quarantine procedures this
deadly disease reared it's ugly head. She lost 6 kids that had to be
helped to the bridge in the front seat of her truck outside the vets
office. This was a very dark time for Jenny. She was at her lowest
point. Fortunately a miracle came out of it. Simon. Simon survived
Distemper!! One of the only known cases of a ferret that has survived.
Jenny did a lot of research and worked her a$$ off for a cure to his
survival. This came with a cost. She occurred about $4,000.00 in vet
bill during this period. She had to cash in her 401K to be able to pay
off some of her vet bills.

Today Jenny and the kids at Asti's Ferret Haven are going strong. She
currently has 53 in house and Simon continues to do excellent!! She has
approximately 13 kids at her shelter that are on Lupron and more that
are on medications. Since she has so many elderly ferrets she is
usually at the vet weekly. Jenny is very proactive in the health of her
ferrets. Even a little OCD may I add. Which of course we should be
right? She came up with an idea of having her first ever raffle. Though
the help of the ferret community, donated items and friends this has
become a reality for her. Her raffle prizes include 2 different sets
containing items that total well over $200 each set. There's a pink one
for girls and a blue one for boys :) She carefully has put these
together over the last several months. Due to the cost of the items
involved and personal money spent to fulfill this reality and provide
the best possible items, tickets are $1 each, with a minimum of a $10
purchase, or you can purchase 17 tickets for $15. You can read more
about her raffle here:

This will also show you the pics of the raffle set which you seriously
have to check out!! The raffle will run to the end of October so make
sure you buy your tickets before that time.

With the Giving Tree coming up the lucky winner of this raffle will
even be able to split up these sets and provide at least 5 ferrets
enough gifts from their Santa. Something to keep in mind eh? Are you
feeling lucky? What do you have to lose.............10 bucks??? Let's
provide the kids in her shelter with happy healthy lives!!

Oh, and one last word from Jenny: VACCINATE
