I read this, too.  It surprised me that Elizabeth Marshall Thomas, author of
``The Hidden Life of Dogs'' and ``The Tribe of Tiger'', would publish such
uninformed comments about ferrets.  It's ironic that she ended the column
with the advice, ``Check your library for more information.'' I agree that
we need to educate her.  Hopefully, someone who loves dogs and cats as much
as she does will be more open-minded than people at the HSUS.  If anyone
wants a photocopy of the article, I'd be glad to send it to you.
