In answer to your question about getting another ferret, they are no
guarantees that a new ferret will be a welcome addition, but you won't know
unless you try. I started with 2 and then had 1 die so I wanted a playmate
for Warlock. Over the next 3 months I adopted 4 more fuzzies. The only
difficulty I had was with 1 infant (she was 11 wks. when I brought her home
from the breeder). I took a lot of work to get her sociable. About 5 months
later I adopted 4 more (all at once). That was back in May of this year and
today I still have a couple of the original group who pick on 2-3 of the
newer group. I know this sounds like a difficulty situation and it is at
times (I do a lot of rescuing), but I wouldn't trade the enjoyment they all
bring me. They are all happy, well adjusted (now) and live a good life
(better than they had before I adopted them). They all have the run of the
house when I'm home but when I'm at work they share a room. None are ever
caged anymore. All 9 have very distinct personalities and each is cuter than
the other. I have one right now knocking everything off the computer table as
I'm writing this. First, the mouse went on the floor, oops, there goes the
mouse pad. Barnaby is soooo cute! Good luck with your decision.
