Howdy from eden & the guys in Seattle,

I had a real scare last night.
We went to a picnic last saturday and when Bill cleaned out the cooler on
Sunday he left it on it's side in the kitchen to airdry with a stick in the
hinge to keep it open. naturally the weasels immediately claimed this new
"cave" as their playground, so we left it sitting there for a few extra days
instead of putting it away (really they're NOT spoiled). at about 5am this
morning I got woken up by a fairly minor clatter too quiet to even disturb
Bill's sleep. I didn't hear anything else & almost ignored it since it
didn't sound like anything breaking or forbidden foods being consumed, but
decided to just see "what they'd gotten into this time" since I was already
awake. Lemke had knocked the spoon out of the hinge & the cooler lid had
shut on him so he was trapped inside a sealed container. since help came so
quickly Lem was completely unphased, but me, I was terrified to realize we'd
left this death trap out with our boys fr 3 days completely unsupervised and
never even thought about it. What if this had happened while we were at
work?

Yet another reminder that we always need to be vigilant for them...
