Hi & dooks to all,

I have a speyed female 2.5 year old ferret. I am concerned about her
because she has never been the healthiest of specimens. She constantly
gets blocked anal glands (need emptying every 4 weeks!), and lately has
been playing for only half the time of the others. She sleeps a lot, and
takes a while to wake up. She also has a cough every so often. She is
going to have her anal glands removed in the next couple of weeks because
it can't be good for her to constantly have them squeezed.

I read in a ferret book that ferrets can have cardiomyopathy, does anybody
have a ferret with this? I am worried about her having an anasthetic to
have her anals out, if she has a heart problem. Her heart has been
listened to many times, but, no problem picked up.

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.
