Last weekend on our way to the feed store we passed a yard sale and there
was this huge cage siton the driveway. I noticed hammocks in it and told
Joe "Stop thats a ferret cage!" Low and behold we looked and it was an
almost new Midwest three story playpen. The people had gotten their kids
two ferrets and then changed their minds when the kids did not take care of
them. (the kids are about 6 and 10) So they took the ferts back to the pet
shop and were traded two Hampsters for them can you believe that. Anyway
they were selling this huge cage, shelves, ramps, hammocks and all for 75
Dollars!!!! What a deal, we scooped it right up. When we got home we set
it up outside washed it down with bleach and soap and let it dry in the sun
all afternoon. I took the hammocks (polar fleece no less)and other bed
items and washed them in hot water and bleached them also. I let them all
dry in the sun. Calvin and Hobbs could not believe it when they moved into
their new digs that night. Well with all this new space to run in thats
when we knew for certain we had to get more ferts.
