Be sure to check for fleas.  One of my dogs came from the breeder with
tapeworms.  When I took her to the vet, he said that tapeworms are passed from
dog to dog by flea bites.  Fleas can be very serious--if your ferret gets bit
enough times, he can become dangerously anemic.
