Greetings! I had Minka when I was living in Indiana and she seemed not to
mind snow too much. She was not fond of the outdoors, though. She always
told me when she was ready to go inside, though, she would stand on her
hind legs and scratch on my knee. When I would pick her up, she would
scurry up my shoulder and down my back into the hood of my jacket. She
LOVES to ride in the hood of any jacket I am wearing. Slinky, the other
ferret living with Minka at the time, LOVED snow. He would stomp through
it and bounce and burrow. He really enjoyed it. I think it is kind of a
ferret personal preference. I just made sure to dry them off when we came
inside so they wouldn't stay wet from melting snow. I wish that Baxter
(my most recent acquisition) would have the chance to experience snow, but
unless some freak weather happens (it has in the past), I doubt we will see
a signifigant quantity of snow here in southern Arizona. On the flip side
of that I found it very funny when those posts were going on about finding
wood pellets for stoves in all those cold locations. We have them
everywhere here.

Drawer sleeping- Minka and (now that he has figured out how to get there)
Baxter always sleep in my drawers. If I want to know where one is, I know
where to look...the panty drawer. It was hysterical one afternoon when I
kept hearing the shuffle of a ferret crawling up the drawer and then a
crash, then a shuffle then a crash. Finally I had to go investigate,
Baxter was trying to drag a toy car (bigger than the hot wheels size) up
the inside back of the dresser and into the drawer. I figured he would
never make it, but imagine my surprise when nestled among my socks was the
black car! I have also found small polar fleece bell balls (also Baxters)
hidden away there. One thing I have noticed about the two of them, Minka
is a toy player. If there are toys out she will play with them for a
while, then just leave them. Baxter always puts them away. He rarely
plays with them, but if they are out of his hidey holes, he MUST put them
back immediately, even if it means taking them from Minka.
