We (human and ferrets) lived in in a house in Collingswood for years.  I
seem to recall there being some sort of wierd 'wild animal registration'
(perhaps for Camden county) that we were told about, but never acted upon.
 
A local police officer came to our house once (for a completely different
reason ;-) and incidentally met our ferrets -- no problems.
