Hello Dear Ferret People,

I've been scarce in the ferret community for the last couple of years.
My life has changed drastically. For one, I have no more ferrets. When
Gabby passed on (peacefully) in late 2005, we chose to not get any more
ferrets at that time. Eric and I had been in a car accident: he had
fractured ribs and a back injury, and I had a seriously broken right
thumb and a back injury. We could barely take care of ourselves, much
less a ferret.

But that's not the only change in my life. About a year ago Eric and I
were separated and are now divorced. The divorce was a mutual decision
and we still keep in touch, although we are each moving on in separate
directions. Because I don't have a permanent living situation yet, I
don't feel it's right to bring a ferret into the equation. But, boy,
do I miss having a fuzzy!

Anyway, as many of you know, we were forced to stop publishing Modern
Ferret due to financial and health issues. Now, due to further
financial issues and space constraints (and the fact that my dad wants
his barn back so he can put his boat in there), I need to "get rid of"
a huge number of back issues of Modern Ferret, as well as posters and
other products. Most of the back issues of Modern Ferret will be
destroyed, simply because there is nowhere for them all to go (we're
talking about thousands of copies of back issues). But before they're
all gone, I wanted to give you all a chance to make offers on anything
that you might feel would be useful to you.

I will be able to keep a number of the Super Monster Packs that we had
been selling, as well as books, art prints, address books, and some
posters, but these will be in very limited amounts.

The point of telling you all this is that I have reduced wholesale
prices on the www.modernferretstore.com web site in the hope that at
least some of this stuff will go somewhere that it can be useful. The
main problem is that shipping these heavy items is very expensive. If
anyone has any reasonable offers on anything that I have, please let me
know. If you want anything, I need to know by the middle of next week
so that I can set it aside for you, otherwise I will have to discard
it. This is a solid deadline, as my parents have already arranged for
a big dumpster. If you are anywhere in the Long Island area and want
to come and get a big pile of stuff, that's an option, too.

The best email addresses to contact me are:

maryATmodernferretDOTcom

marydrewsATgmailDOTcom

I hope I'll hear from some of you, so that not all of these things go
to waste. I also hope that I'll join the ranks of the ferret-owned
world again before too long.
