Mocha, our 6 year old female, was discovered on Sunday to have a
greatly enlarged vulva. I took her into the vet today who did
some tests and seems to have determined that she's in heat. Which
is quite a surprise because she was spayed 5 years ago. It's
probably due to a fragment of ovary being left behind during
the initial spaying.

So, she goes on HCG tomorrow to take her out of heat.
(Female ferrets normally won't come out of heat without breeding,
and prolonged oestrus can lead to aplastic anemia and other
nasties.)

I remember someone saying something about enlarged vulva
being a symptom of lymphosarcoma or something else. Does
anybody have a reference? Our vet would like to read it.
