I've been handling ferrets for the past 12 years and build up a lot of
experience. It appears there are problems in stopping that little gritter
scratching in the toilet pan and spreading the litter all over the place.
Well..... I know the feeling, I tried everything under the sun without
great success. But I finally beat them to it and the answer was quit
simple. A preferably plastic tray (metal will rust) about: 10 Cm deep and a
piece of small square, reasonable, heavy gage wire mesh, that will take the
weight of the animal, with the edges folded down, so Fussie wont get his
feet wet, to fit in the bottom of the tray, You may have to string a bit of
wire across the top of the mesh to hold it in place, some of my ferrets will
still try to get under it. I've got some 25 gages so equipped, all I do in
the morning take out the tray and rinse it out under the garden tap, spray a
little disinfectant in the bottom to stop the smell of urine especially in
the hot weather, and my problems were over.

Hope you understand this description, If not let me now.

Regards BILL (ferretologist!!).
