Our friend, Susan Baker, runs FRISKYBIZNUS FERRET SANCTUARY down in
Houston, Texas. The Sanctuary works alongside of Texas Ferret Lovers
Rescue and several other ferret organizations.

FRISKYBIZNUS is unique in that they:
Do not adopt out, their ferrets are at their final home.

Because....They only take in ferrets that other shelters deem totally
unadoptable. Susan provides a safe, loving, forever home to ferrets
that have suffered severe trauma/abuse. The throwaways that previous
owners didn't consider worthy enough of to provide the medical care
they so desperately need. Susan works her fingers to the bone for
these poor little ferrets, while holding down a full-time job.

The Sanctuary is at capacity. She's suffered her share of heartbreak,
seen ferrets in horrific situations/conditions, as all
shelter/sanctuary operators do. People can be so unbelievably cruel
to these delightful creatures. APATHY is a form of cruelty too.

Susan and Friskybiznus try their damnedest to make these kids forget
some of the hardships that they've endured. The rates for medical and
veterinary care, along with food and housing have skyrocketed. If this
Sanctuary and others like it cannot keep up with these costs, they will
be forced to close. THEN where will all of these poor ferrets go? Not
to our already overcrowded shelters, certainly not back out on the
streets. Fundraising is the only way most shelters keep afloat. Well,
the good news is, is that FRISKYBIZNUS is hosting an online Benefit
Raffle RIGHT NOW. It runs until midnight Dec.9.

I, personally, have never seen so many fantastic items, donated by
some {83} very generous, wonderful people, in one raffle. There are
tons of bedding sets, food, gift certificates, combination packages,
jewelry, art, toys, household items- anything and everything. They
are all high quality too! Many, many of these goodies would be just
perfect for a GIVING TREE ferret, you/your ferrets/friends/friends
ferrets. There are also non-ferret related goodies too.

So, PLEASE kind folks - especially in this time of ThanksGIVING and
with the Joy of the Christmas Season upon us - take a moment or two
