In light of the comments that cataracts can develop for a while but go
unseen, and then appear to have 'suddenly' formed, I guess it could've been
developing slowly for a while. However, it definitely worsened as far as I
could tell over the course of a couple days. Now, when he looks up at you
from the floor, you can see milky white cataracts no matter what the
lighting. A week ago, they weren't there. When they showed up, they were
noticeable but not from any sort of distance. So I said that they were
getting worse, although they may have stopped doing so by now - it's really
hard to tell now that it's at this stage.

He's scared of heights and going through unfamiliar places, which makes me
sad, and he mistakes tall things (like the mirror) for me if I'm also in the
room. Otherwise, he seems to be fine; he can obviously see some (or he
wouldn't mistake the mirror for me) and he's happy enough being on the
floor.

I guess I just wanted to check that 1) this wasn't completely abnormal and
2) see if there wasn't something that could be done..

Happy holidays!

Melissa
