Hi all

I've discovered two resources that may be of interest to any ferret owner,
but to shelters in particular:

1. The United Animal Network/Emergency Animal Rescue Service
(http://www.uan.org/programs/ears/) offers Disaster Preparedness Training
Workshops. Details are available at
http://www.uan.org/programs/ears/workshops.htm

2. The Federal Emergency Management Agency offers an huge manual on the
subject of "Animals in Disaster." The two-part manual actually comprises a
course offered by the Emergency Managment Institute. Go to
http://www.fema.gov/EMI/crslist.htm to download the *free* course books
(IS-10 and IS-11).

These programs would be great for clubs too. You can actually receive a
discount on the UAN/EARS course if multiple people from your organization
attend the same workshop.

Happy ferreting!
