I would find out what kind of pesticides are being used (names) and most
importantly their active ingredients.  This is in case there should be any
side effects you can give that information to the medical personel very
quickly.
 
I would imagine any symptoms of a poisoning from the bug sprays would vary
depending upon the spray used.  You know your ferrets.  If they don't behave
normally, have it checked out.
 
As far as not washing the floors......well, I've never been one to do as I'm
told.  ;) They don't want you to wash the floors, etc.  since there are
ingredients that will be active for 4 weeks.  I don't know about you, but
that makes me nervous.  I would wash nearly everything in sight, but that's
me.  You have to do what you believe is best.
 
Other's on the FML in the past have suggested telling landlords that you are
allergic to bugsprays and not having the apartment sprayed.  I don't know if
this is an option for you.  For me it would be the truth!
 
Since a number of folks on the FML ask about this from time to time, this
topic might be a possible addition to the Ferret FAQ's, if there's nothing
about this already there.
