There are several in NJ.

The shelter for ADV ferrets is temporarily closed to new ones.
 
Also, in NJ Associated Humane Societies and sometimes other general
animal shelters have ferrets on and off.
 
The mustelids are descended from the dog branch of Carnivora.
 
Nell, Adrenal disease causes hormonal production increases which can
cause ferrets to have aspects that are like times of sexual activity.
There is no abbreviation for adrenal disease.
 
ADV is entirely different.  ADV is sometimes abbreviated as AD.  This
is a disease in which over-responses of the immune system cause plaques
to form in multiple organs.
