We've been very busy here finishing off our new book _The Wit and Wisdom of
the Modern Ferrets: A Ferrets's Perspective On Ferret Care_.  We will be
publishing this book ourselves so that we will have full control over all
of the editorial and business aspects.
 
This book features all of the columns written by our ferrets during the
first 5 years of publishing Modern Ferret magazine.  This is an angle
never before taken by a ferret care book, and we think they help make the
information much more enjoyable and easy to read.  The columns cover a wide
range of topics and are written by Sabrina, Marshmallow, Knuks, Trixie, and
Gabrielle.
 
Many people feel that Mary's first book _The Ferret: An Owner's Guide to a
Happy Healthy Pet_ is one of the best ferret books available.  Reviews from
our test readers for _The Wit and Wisdom_ have been excellent, so I think
we are well on our way to making another winner.
 
The book will be available in June of 2000, and we are offering a special
discount to clubs and shelters that place wholesale orders before May 15.
We are hoping that many clubs and shelters will find this book to be a
great education-oriented, fund-raising product.

It has taken us a lot longer to finish this book than we had hoped.  We
thought it would certainly be done by January, but we've had a lot of
people and ferret medical crises in the past few months (on top of all
sorts of other business crises).  Now that the book is finished, we will be
turning our attention back to putting out the next issue of Modern Ferret.
Hopefully we will be able to work everything back on to schedule soon.
