Yup, there are some of us that understand only too well.  My wife and I
do ferret rescues also.  We lost one of our first ferrets late February
to insulinoma.  Mindy was a real sweetheart and we miss her a lot.
Thursday we took Podo, one of our two Utah ferrets, in for adrenal
surgery.  He has a cancerous tumour wrapped around his liver and vena
cava.  All we can do for him is keep him feeling good for the time he
has left.
 
Hurt? You bet it does...........

I still prefer the company of ferrets.
