Hi,
Sure wish we could go to a vet here in Washington and pay the prices you
back East, South pay for your ferrets. We don't even have the experts
that you have out there, and we have to pay over $1,000.00 for Adrenal and
Insulinoma surgery. It seems most of the vets in the west seem to be owned
by some higher companies and they don't have the choice as to the prices
they charge the owner, I think that the reason but still not sure. Not
only do we have very few vets that will even take in Ferrets, only a couple
of them will even do the surgery.

You talk about paying $300.00 for an Adrenal surgery. I paid $300.00 for
a mast tumor taken off my ferret, which I am sure wasn't that big of an
operation.

Here all spay and neuters are a little over $l00.00. Just to find out what
kind of bacteria my ferret had was over $l50.00. I know of only one vet
in the Seattle area that has resonable prices and she is no longer taken
customers I have heard because she is so busy! Sure wish some of the vets
that really know ferrets would move out here and help the poor ferrets here
in the West! Also noticed now that people are learning its better to get a
ferret from a breeder then a pet store, prices are now going up! I think
this is called supply and demand. The more ferret vets and breeders you
have in an area, the less the prices are.

Thank you Pam for trying to help us out here in the West that have to pay
such outrageous prices!
