I just discovered a complication of playing the song "lightnin' strikes".
Geriatric 'Chopper who is partly deaf, but who pays a LOT more attention to
sounds since she also lost her sight to protein in the eye lenses was romping
in the sunny front room when the piece came on. As those of us who were
around in the 60s know, the chorus contains a shouted "STOP!". Well, EVERY
time the chorus would come up she'd hear that and stop dead in her tracks
waiting to learn what was up. I tried to get her to play in the back but
she seemed curious as to what unsniffable soul was warning her, so I had to
stay out there with her until the song ended. Okay, she just showed up in
this room and seems to want me to move to the front so maybe I'll put that
song on again for her and show her the speakers. NO, actually, I won't -- I
LIKE the way she responds that immediately and completely to the word
because it keeps her safer.
