Just a quick note to say that Millie has been sick for a couple of days now.
She threw up on Saturday night, seemed fine all day Sunday (altho' not
eating...) I tempted her with a bit of chicken and she ate that but threw it
up a bit later. We managed to get her to drink some water, this morning
there was something solid in her poop but when we examined it, it seemed to
be a piece of chicken which had passed through completely undigested. We
discovered recently that she has been eating some of her bedding (an old red
tracksuit of mine leading to red fuzzy poops) but we removed it straight
away with another rag which she doesn't seem to eat. I fear a blockage may
be the problem and am very worried as that's how we lost Baby Che. I don't
know how I will cope if we lose another so soon and so young. Millie is the
berserker Milliemonster, who has given Sinbad a new lease of life since Che
died. She is the very best kisser in the whole world, loves to shower our
faces with kisses and will sit on my shoulder "grooming" my ears (you ever
had a ferret stick it's nose right in your ear and give you whiskery kisses
on your eardrum, all the while doing the excited heavy breathing thing?...it
doesn't get any more ticklish than that!)...until she gets bored and has to
go for a berserk scamper around the house, or try (yet again!) to beat
Sinbad in a wrestle...

Anyway, hopefully I am envisaging disaster before it's necessary. She is
visiting the vet this afternoon, we'll have some x-rays and decide where to
go from there. I just needed to share my concern with people who
understand. When Che got sick, most of the people I told were incredibly
insensitive...one person said we 'should shoot it', a few others told us
that a new ferret would be cheaper than the vet's bill...because people
round here don't generally keep ferrets as pets, they have trouble
understanding that they are just as important as a pet dog.

Will update as soon as I know anything more,
Regards, Sophie.
