Maybe you missed reading the original FML post from Kevin. (April 29)

He stated the ferret Gumby was picked up at Animal Control and placed
into his shelter by a volunteer. Gumby was later thought to have the
flu, and has recovered.

They later learned an ill cage mate had been euthanized when they
arrived at animal control. That ferret was never at Kevins shelter.

Kevin also stated in the original post the shelter ferrets later
becoming ill had been vaccinated in Dec, except for a few that had
previous reactions.

I cannot even imagine the frustration and heart break.
