Helicobacter test

I've just received word via Sukie that the Helicobacter test I mentioned
in one of my posts a few days ago is no longer in the works.  Dr. Williams
said there were a number of reasons why the development of the test was
dropped.  And as Dr. Williams said, since all ferrets carry H. mustelea, a
positive result to any test that was developed wouldn't have much meaning.
 
Dr. Williams also commented that the treatment I mentioned (amoxi, flagyl,
pepto) takes 6-8 weeks to be effective.  This is contrary to what Dr.
Judith Bell says (minimum of 2 weeks), but I believe I'd go with Dr.
Williams recommendation.
