I am posting a link below that connects to a PETA investigation of a
large breeder and distributor of small animals, including ferrets. The
company is Rainbow World Exotics in Hamilton, Texas, and PetSmart is
a major client of theirs. The website speaks for itself. There are
atrocities documented, photographed, and video taped there that will
outrage any animal lover. If you watch the video taken by an undercover
PETA volunteer, I must warn you that there are many disturbing scenes.
At the end of the video are two scenes involving ferrets. In one, a
crate full of ferrets had nearly drown when a water supply pipe filled
their cage, and they fought for a long time to keep their heads above
water. The other ferret scene shows a VERY overcrowded cage that would
make any ferret lover sick to their stomach.

At this link there are suggestions on how to take action and to make
your voice heard. You can even just send their form letter straight to
PetSmart, with your own name on it. It takes just a minute or two. I
urge members of this list to take the time to look at this, not only
because it involves ferrets, but because it involves thousands and
thousands of small animals that are severely mistreated EVERY DAY.
