Today has been kind of an odd day. I noticed a pet store in town that I
never knew existed, somewhere where I never am. I decided to stop in and
check it out. The owner was great and we talked awhile, very personable.
Then she showed me this one remaining ferret she has. Asked me if I wanted
to hold him/play cause he's been by himself for a couple of weeks and he
would enjoy the social time. She brought him to me and he was just crazy!!!
But I'm pretty sure he is really a she. Anyway, he nipped only long enough
to realize that he shouldn't and would let go right away, But he had an all
out war with the collar of my jacket, it was great! She said someone had
put a deposit on him to pick him up on X-mas eve, but on X-mas eve called to
ask for her deposit back. So here he is still at the store. He's a MF
ferret, the first store in town that has actually been able to tell me where
they get their ferrets from. I left feeling pretty good about this pet
store, and that's rare for me to say.

On the flip side of things, I received the bill from the vets office in the
mail today. (My vet is so wonderful, "preferred customer discount" - over
half of the bill). Then I also got a sympathy card from the previous owner
of Tequila. It was very, very nice. And just now I got a phone call from
the vets office, her ashes are in and I can go pick them up. Great way to
get the old emotions rolling again.
