To Jeff Hazel, who is alarmed about so much adrenal disease in the ferret:

Jeff, your question comes up on a routine basis. When you ar ealing with an
animal which has a 5-7 year lifespan, and most people have more than one, you
tend to see adrenal disesae or other diseases quite a bit. Plus, we have an
ever increasing membership which is able to get veterinary help here on the
FML from people who have a lot of experience with ferrets.

We get a lot of medical questions but that doesn't necessarily mean that
ferrets are fraught with problems. With good food, regular exercise and a
lot of attention and care, your ferret will probably have a long, happy life.
