Hey how about this , walk into the petco and grap the big bag of aspen
chips , open it and dump it into the "ferret aquarium" so they have a
deep layer to "do their thing in ".  I'm sure you would be harrassed by
the management but what are they going to say , "We like our animals in
filth".
 
Also throw in some play balls and a few treats.
