Lydia,

I have experienced DFS four times now (in the last three years), the last
just last week. When I discovered the DFS ferret last week (Snuff), I was
in tears - it is that convincing! I know it is hard to believe, but until
you've experienced it...

What you say re: seeing the ferret breathing is perfectly reasonable, but
the heartbeat (and breathing) slows to almost nothing and the ferret is
just *totally* limp. I couldn't feel Snuffs heartbeat or breath.

Sometimes they come out of it reasonably quickly, sometimes not. Snuff
took in close to half a minute to come round! Even the technique of
blowing into his face (read on the FML recently) did not do the trick.

I sincerely hope you never experience DFS!

Regards,
-David and the Down Under ferrets
