Perhaps some other keen sighted individual previously posted this, but if
not, I find it rather amusing in light of the continued debate in CA over
these "deadly" creatures, that here in Memphis a ferret was recognized for
waking her human up before their apartment burned down ....
 
Seems the human got an unexpected wakeup call from Keely somewhere around
about 3 a.m and woke to smell of smoke.  Looking out his window he saw a
portion of a three-alarm fire that eventually gutted 12 apartment units.
It took somewhere around 100 firefighters and 41 pieces of equipment to
bring the fire under control.
 
For the disbelievers, you can check http://www.gomemphis.com , search for
articles with ferret, and look for the story on 4/14/98.  Not that any of
us would disbelieve such a story.  It's all the other folks we need to
convince.
