With all the abuse
You suffered before
It stopped the moment
You came through the door
 
We tried everything
Then tried it again
Your damage too severe
To live with the pain
 
I held you and cried
While you took your last breath
Your short life was painful
But not your quick death
 
Now your old life has ended
But a new one's begun
In golden, warm meadows
