Forgot to let you al know where we are....duh.....
 
Lansing, Michigan.  And I have called all over in the general area and
couldn't find any vet less expensive.
 
I called at MSU (Michigan State University) and THEY want $1200 to
$1500!  I just had cataract surgery, and it was $2000!  You would think
being a school they would be a bit lower in price.
 
The vet that has been recommended the most is Cedar Creek in Williamston,
not more than 20 minutes away, but his quote was $800 - $1000.
