My thanks to all who replied to my post of last week. Zoie is still with
me, and seems no worse (if no better). My veterinarian told me that he
thinks the enlargement of her mesenteric lymph node may be more due to
a severe bacterial infection than anything else, and Zoie is now taking
Baytril and Flagyl twice a day. She is also on carafate to help her
tummy.

As for the other nodules that were detected during the ultrasound, their
identity is unknown. For this reason, I have also been administering
essiac twice a day, and will continue that even after the course of
antibiotics is done. If there is a malignancy, the essiac should help
some - if not, it shoudn't hurt.

I had known about essiac for some time, but I was unfamiliar with
pycnogenol until some FMLers told me about it last week. I'd be real
curious to hear from anyone who has used these together. I found an old
post (2004) from a veterinary student who was using them, but have been
unable to get in touch with her (dead email address). As long as the
ferret isn't harmed, using both remedies would seem like a reasonable
course of action. I just worry about harmful cross-reactions.

thanks to all for sharing,

John
