Just wanted to point out that the reverse situation--smoking to non-smoking
environment--can cause stress in an animal, too.  They will act highly
irritated and could be prone to biting until the toxins clear from their
system.  Yes, it's like withdrawal.
 
Just another reason to quit or at least not to smoke in the house.
 
I give credit to the Bossarts of 4 Li'l Paws Shelter in NH for being the
first to point this out to me as something to look out for when running a
shelter.
