Anna: Hi! from UTMB at Galveston. On the subject of shelters, try "SAFE
[log in to unmask]" or "[log in to unmask]". Rick is the voice of the San Antonio
Ferret Enthusiasts and may be able to pinpoint local ferret groups in the
Austin area.  Shelters That Adopt and Rescue Ferrets is run by Pam Grant;
 they are a national group that may also have local information and will also
have info on breeding. STAR can send you info thru snailmail by sending a
LONG SASE to:
    STAR* Ferrets
    PO Box 1714
    Springfield, VA 22151-0714

You might wantto be carefull about breeding in Austin though. If what state
officials in Nebraska say is true (about gangs of wild ferrets roaming the
fields at night pushing over cows), whose to say *steers* would be excepted?
;D
Good Luck!
