I haven't had the energy or the mind to write this until now.  Sneekers
(aka Neeki), my little albino girl, passed away on Saturday the 22nd.
 
She had been soundly sleeping that morning and my boyfriend startled her
awake.  She seemed a little shook up, but was busy giving me kisses
withing seconds.  She was placed back in the cage with her roommates
Harley and Jake and my boyfriend and I left to do some last minute
shopping.
 
I didn't know there was a problem.  I didn't think it would be the last
time I would see her.  I returned home to find her in the back of the
cage, eyes wide open, tail bottle-brushed and gone.
 
Sneekers had suffered last Thanksgiving with fluid in the lungs and
enlarged heart.  She nearly died then.  My vet said she had suffered some
sort of blunt trauma and her chest filled with fluid.  She suffered from
seizures for about 2-3 weeks after that.  These seizures left her brain
damaged, but still as cute as a button.  She had trouble running about and
would often fall over and kick at the air with her mouth wide open like
someone had pushed her and she was fighting back.  She had the strangest
war dance, but yet she never gave up or stopped trying to play with the
big boys.
 
She'll be missed.  I can still see her funny running about the living room
and trying to surprise attack one of the boys only to be flipped over like
a turtle by her own doing and dooking at the ceiling.
 
Rest peacefully little girl.  You were loved and you'll be missed.
