FUZZIES IN THE PARK
a Massachusetts Ferret Friends PICNIC!!
 
Saturday, June 28  .... At Rutland State Park .... Noon 'til 5:00 pm
 
Admission: $5, Children under 12 FREE (Park charges $2 for parking in lot)
 
This is a "Bring-Your-Own" Picnic, so bring your ferrets, some picnic fare,
and have some ferrety fun!
 
Contests: ($2 entry fee per contest): Biggest and smallest ferret, blackest
nose, longest whiskers, best ferret trick, longest and shortest tails, best
mitts, best ferret kiss!
 
For children: face painting, drawing table, and free entry in best trick and
best kiss contests.
 
Visit the MaFF and Frisky Ferret Shelter vendor tables: ferret items,
leashes/harnesses, books on ferret care, more!  All proceeds benefit the
Massachusetts Ferret Friends and the Frisky Ferret Shelter.
 
** At the park: we will be in the "Group Use Area." The 396 acre Rutland
State Park facilities include picnic tables, boating, swimming, restrooms,
hiking and walking trails.
 
The Park is about 10 miles northwest from Worcester as the crow flies.
Unfortunately, this is Massachusetts, and we are not crows.  Please e-mail

Please note: by participating in this event, you assume all responsibility
for the behavior and welfare of your ferret(s).  Neither the Massachusetts
Ferret Friends as a nonprofit organization, nor the hosting venue, nor any
sponsor of this event will be held liable for the behavior or welfare of
your ferret(s).
 
All ferrets must be in carriers, please.  When out of carriers, they must be
leashed.
 
In order to be admitted to this event, all ferrets must have proof of
current vaccinations for rabies and distemper.

Other cautions: while the park remains relatively cool in the summer, please
exercise caution when driving or playing with your ferrets in hot weather.
Temperatures over 85 degrees can lead to heat stroke and death.  Keep your
fuzzy cool, restrict activity in hot weather, and provide lots of fresh
water for him/her to drink.
