Thank you, Zoo. Yes, a necropsy was done on the little girl since she
was actually evidence in an abuse case against the owner. She did have
organ failure. After all the responses and more reading now I realize
there was really nothing I could do - the vet could have tried to
correct the electrolyte imbalance I suppose, but I went with their word
that there was really nothing they could do. If I ever have one that
is like that again I will bring it up with my vet and see if there is
something they can try but there probably isn't since these guys are
so incredibly small to begin with.
