I wanted to thank all the folks who responded to my post privately...and
those who did so publicly as well. I got a great deal of very positive
feedback, some new perspectives, and a lot to think about.

One issue that come up in several of the responses that I got, and I think,
is a valid (though unfortunate) point: Many folks thanked me for bringing
the issue to the fore but said they would not have dared for fear of the
flames. I think that speaks a great deal about the perceived environment
on the FML. I'm happy to report, however, that my flame-retardant suit
was not necessary. It seems that many folks are in agreement with me.
There comes a time to let go...and it's up to each individual ferret
owner to decide as best he/she can when that is.

Thanks again,
MJ
