Usually I just read and lurk, but this prompted me to respond.

Bev this is by no means a flame @ you. I understand your views about just
getting rid of your ferret. I too hope that I am never in a postion that I
have to part with my dear friends. It was understood from the day I brought
them home that only death would us do part, until Rainbow Bridge of course,
where we will be happily together again:)

But please Bev try to remember, these people did not make that decision in
haste. I am sure they have exhausted all avenues. On the contrary, I
believe they are being very responsible, for the want of a better life for
their loved ones, and being even more responsible turning to the FML to find
that perfect home.

It breaks my heart to know that people are faced with the decision to give
up their beloved pet, but as I see it, they are certainly going out on a
limb to ensure they get the best of a home. And yes I sleep better knowing
that the ferret will soon get a loving home as opposed to being set loose or
just pawned off to someone who has no knowledge or experience with ferrets.
Take care..
